Jimmy Urine filmed while performing their hit track “Tornado” on stage in Dallas, TX. Mindless Self Indulgence is a special kind of music that you have to just let everything go and just enjoy yourself, that or be fucked up on all kinds of weird drugs. Either way, their fun to listen to and pretty darn good live. It’s white boy hip hop with a weird punk twist to it that also has unique singing involved. Check it out.

Qreview! iwrestledabearonce – “Ruining it for Everybody”
iwrestledabearonce’s “Ruining it for Everybody” sure is something alright. One moment it’s incredibly brutal, the next it sounds like a Mariah Carey album. You have Elvis parts, then you have dance your ass off techno parts. I’m confused! Krista Cameron has an intense vocal range with the quickest turn around from screaming to singing back to guttural. It’s quite impressive, same for the rest of the band. Drummer Mikey Montgomery pounds out some incredibly fast double bass (as heard on “You Know That Ain’t Them Dogs’ Real Voices” after the Elvis breakdown) and guitarists Steven Bradley and John Ganey put out some silly sounds then assault you with something extremely heavy, then do some Danza styled guitar diddles. Mike “Rickshaw” Martin on bass guitar adds some good funk at times and keeps up with the rest of the insanity just fine.
Each song is equally as entertaining as it is random. This album is fun, they play something different and try to fit in as many styles as they can. The music is good, each musician knows how to play their instrument. They just play the craziest shit since Mindless Self Indulgence. Out of everything though, Krista is the key ingredient to this maggot and cigarette filled cake. Her voice is beautiful and she definitely knows how to sing. She blows everyone away in terms of pitch and range, both clean and screaming styles are done perfectly. The track “This Head Music Makes My Eyes Rain” puts her in the spotlight and she performs with entirely clean vocals, in an almost atmospheric ambient song.
Like I said, there are a few silly spots on the album I just cannot take seriously. Then again, I never went into this album expecting seriousness at all. You need to expect nothing and you get some great tunes in return.
