THE TIDE WILL TAKE US – A Slightly Different Take On Deathcore; New Album Coming Soon
Wasaga Beach, ON’s melodic deathcore band THE TIDE WILL TAKE US has announced it will be officially releasing its full-length album “Putrid Dynasty” produced by Jon Howard of Threat Signal and Bjorn “Speed” Strid of Soilwork on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012.
The album is the follow up to their self-titled 5-song debut EP, produced by Kent Sheehey (The Vegas Wake Up) and is a sonic fury that is immediately audible as it rips, pounds and rages through your ears. Song names like “Choke On Your Regret”, “Putrid Dynasty”, “Concubine Queen” and “Metastasize & Consume” demonstrate TTWTU‘s reach to the deepest, darkest abscesses of the listener’s brain before even a single note sounds and conjures grotesque imagery.
“When gearing up to record “Putrid Dynasty” we wanted to expand our sound, but also keep the same feel as our self-titled EP. Working with two professional musicians was quite the change, though, as it pushed us to write the best material we’ve written so far. It was a hard adjustment to make and was also very intimidating to work with Jon Howard, Canadian native and vocalist of Threat Signal, but just as rattling if not more to work with Björn “Speed” Strid of the Swedish Metalcore act Soilwork. We got to explore various tone options for drums, guitars and bass and the vocal tracking was extremely fun and experimental. We are very proud of our full-length album “Putrid Dynasty” and we are very excited for its May 2012 release,” commented TTWTU guitarist Mike Longeri.

SPINESHANK Signs Deal With CENTURY MEDIA; New Album Out In June
Grammy-nominated alternative-metal act SPINESHANK have reunited after a six year hiatus and are back full force and completely rejuvenated. The band have inked a worldwide deal with Century Media Records for the release of their new album, Anger Denial Acceptance, that will be released in North America on June 19 and in Europe on June 18.
“We’re very excited to be on a great label like Century Media,” comments guitarist Mike Sarkysian. “Aside from being the premier label for rock and metal, the seem to really understand our vision and are as excited as we are about taking Spineshank to a whole new level!”
Anger Denial Acceptance will be the band’s fourth album and follow up to their 2003 release, Self-Destructive Pattern. “This is by far the proudest I have ever been of any Spineshank record,” says Sarkysian. “Anger Denial Acceptance is the darkest and the most honest this band has ever been.”
100,000 Views Hit: THANK YOU! Also, JOB FOR A COWBOY Perform A Song LIVE!!!
This morning I woke up and found that I’ve hit 100k views in just 7 1/2 months. I never even thought I would hit that in my first year let alone under it! Thank you for reading my blog, reviews and jamming out to the music I share throughout the day. It’ll only get better from here. CHEERS!!!!
Now for the music, Job For A Cowboy recently played a new song and it is a continuance on the JFAC into death metal territory. Black Discharge sounds god awful but I’m sure it has something to do with the BP spill in the gulf, since JFAC is always spouting off about government coverups and other conspiracies. The new talent that JFAC has now on lead guitar and bass guitar makes them sound a lot better than previous records and I’ve only heard two songs from the new album so far. Amazing work gentlemen, Demonocracy comes out April 10th via Metal Blade Records

NEW SONG! PSYCROPTIC – Carriers of the Plague
Try not to spill your coffee all over you while you listen to this and head bang. I’m not reliable if you burn yourself. Neither is Psycroptic or Nuclear Blast. So don’t be dumb. Anywho, this song is pretty good. I’m definitely looking forward to the new album. “The Inherited Repression” out Feb. 2012
MetalSucks premieres some really kick ass music! Nothnegal’s “Janus” is sure to make you headbang.
MetalSucks – Maybe it’s something in the water (The Indian Ocean), but Nothnegal aren’t the first band MetalSucks has featured from the tiny Maldives island chain, some 400 miles off the southern tip of India. I wouldn’t be too quick to call the Maldives a hot-bed for metal just yet, though; cousins Hilarl and Fufu, the band’s main creative forces, had to import musicians from as far away as America and Finland to round out their lineup. The cousins are supported by Six Feet Under, Dååth, ex-Chimaira drummer Kevin Talley and Finnish keyboard player Marco Sneck (Kalmah, Poisonblack) on their new album Decadence, which comes out on January 24th via Season of Mist. But the results paid off; Nothnegal are definitely worth a look by MetalSucks readers.
“Janus” is one of the record’s slower tracks, but that’s why we like it. The song’s deliberate pace allows plenty of room to breathe for the keyboards, which at times throughout Decadence can become overbearing. The result is a moody, doomy and dark yet aggressive slice of genre-melding metal that reminds me somewhat of Ihsahn or his backing band Leprous. Stream “Janus” below.”
Bonus: if you pre-order a copy of Decadence you’ll be automatically entered to win an all expenses paid trip to the Maldives! The 5-day journey will take place at the Fihalhohi Island Resort in Summer 2012. The winner will receive one return flight to the Maldives, an all-inclusive stay (including scuba-diving and other water sport activities) for two people and a meet and greet with the band.
