Human Transmutation are streaming their new EP over on their bandcamp now, officially showing the world something new: Animecybergrind. Honestly, I don’t give a flying fuck about the Fullmetal Alchemist theme of the music (However, the intro cracks me up). I’m just not familiar with that show, however the music is purely vehement, raw and utterly just down right brutal.
My homeboys at American Aftermath have a new track from their homeboys Hetfield and Hetfield and this circle of bromance can only mean one thing, good music. Hetfield and Hetfield is new to me and as I listen to the new song entitled “Mega Shark” I can’t help but think this would be one of those opening bands that would be a perfect fit on any prog line up. Well while they aren’t touring with Mastodon right now, they are hitting the road with Vattnet Viskar in March so if they are coming to your town next month be sure to go see them.
Not only is this new grind, IT IS FREE FOR DOWNLOAD! So go ahead and pick up the two tracks that make up Human Transmutation’s 2 song demo/EP, “Dogs of the Military“.
Two Fullmetal Alchemist freaks from different parts of the US decided one day to put their love of grind and anime into a single, simplistic, barbaric form of cyber brutality. Featuring members of Kindergarten Hazing Ritual and The Eyeboogers.
So press play and be blown away by 2 song in under 1 minute. God damn those vocals are nasty! If you like your music heavy and fast, then Human Transmutation has what you need this morning.
I was sharing metal news from my Facebook page before I started this blog. I spammed my wall feed to my friends about shit that is coming out, bands coming to town and every once in a while I did a review for an album. Early 2011 I heard some music that inspired me to do this even more. I wanted to find some bands that were new (to me) and share them. The first band to do this was Woods of Ypres. Then it progressed to other bands in many many different genres. I hit up websites and stalked the Metal Injection forum and had some back n forth banter with some people. I love what Metal Injection and MetalSucks does for the community. They are big time blogs doing some big time shit: interviews, exclusives and tons of content. What really made me want to start MY own blog was this duo of blogs that I thought were great. One is Heavy Blog Is Heavy and the other is American Aftermath.
Before I retire for the night, I just want to show American Aftermath boss man Ross Gnarly some love. Happy Birthday man!!! Here’s to many many more years of headbanging and enjoying great music! Cheers! I’m going to drink a tall glass of juice for you!
Today I pass the torch to another metal enthusiast, Ross Gnarly of American Aftermath. He knows his shit people so listen to what he has to say.
Hello there, friends and fellow extreme music advocates. My name is Ross Gnarly and I run the American Aftermath blog. After seeing Merg’s previous post, Wednesday Wreck-Ommendations, I asked him if I could possibly do one myself for Headbang or GTFO. Well, he told me to go for it, so here it is. The following are a few bands that you might not have heard of and some of you might hate. Like them or hate them, doesn’t matter to me either way. Check ‘em out and enjoy. ~R. Gnarly//Dig It or Die.
Old Wounds are a mind-blowing hardcore band from New Jersey. I’ve been supporting the fuck out of ‘em for a while now and I will continue to do so because their crushing brand of hardcore is fantastic. Every track I have heard by the band has been nothing but absolutely stellar. They are ever-expanding and ever-evolving. Keep your eyes on these dudes because they’re gonna blow the fuck up. Check out their tunes here:http://oldwoundsnj.bandcamp.com/
Next up is the chaotic, metalcore band Did You Just Hex Me?. These guys recorded their last (I mean this literally) album with Fuck The Facts guitarist Topon Das before calling it a day. Their music has elements of mathcore and death metal all thrown into the belly of a metalcore carcass. Short, fast bursts of energy spew forth from this humorous band. I mean, how can you not want to listen to a band who wrote a song about Carmen Sandiego? Download their 2011 record for free:http://www.filedropper.com/didyoujusthexme2011
The Drip. What can I say about The Drip? I mean, I have followed these guys for a long time, much like Old Wounds. I was introduced to The Drip by Wormrot vocalist Arif Rot. Astonishing, crushing wall of sound. That’s the best way I know how to describe these Washingtonian grinders. They keep the shit real. You can check ‘em out here:http://thedrip.bandcamp.com/
Last but definitely not least is Orwell. Orwell are very hard to describe as a band so I think I’ll just stick with what they describe themselves as: a continuously-progressing metal band. They draw in inspiration from every direction that you could think of and they pull off some of the most intricate, impressive and beautiful metal possible. These dudes are an absolutely killer band and awesome dudes as well. You can download their latest EP, AVOHFASIH here:http://orwellus.bandcamp.com/album/avohfasih
That is all for now. Hope you liked some of these bands. Or even if you didn’t, I don’t care. I know they rule and that’s all that matters. Now, headbang or get the fuck out, son. Peace.
Yes, it’s true. Ross Gnarly of American Aftermath has covered one of my personal favorite local bands in Kansas City, MO: Troglodyte! And I helped!
AA is another great metal blog so be sure to check them out and if you’re from KCMO, you better fucking read his article. You should be proud that people are recognizing a local band whose theme is Sasquatch killing shit. Go here to be Skunk Ape Raped!
Be sure to pick up Troglodyte’s newest album “Welcome To Boggy Creek”!
