Mindless Self Indulgence is a special kind of music that you have to just let everything go and just enjoy yourself, that or be fucked up on all kinds of weird drugs. I’ve already heard this song countless times already but seeing Travis perform that second verse of his brought chills up and down my spine. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this track makes me want new Cattle Decapitation more so than Soulfly. The new Soulfly album is alright but Cattle Decap is just simply amazing. I do love me a good cover, it’s rare to fully appreciate a cover when the original is so good. However this young gentleman whose name is Sam Abbott plays Mastodon’s entire album “Leviathan” in one take. One take! Not only is this just magical, it’s another reason to respect both classical music and current works in metal. Not all metal is art, I know this but jeez man Sam does an incredible job playing on those keys. Now when you need to play something good but your daughter is in the room yet you still wanna rock out….put this video on!! Much respect to Sam Abbott and his incredible cover. First we have Wretched with their video for “Dilated Disappointment” from their new album Son of Perdition which will be released on March 26th through Victory Records. It’s a damn fine song, damn fine. If you like what you hear then be sure to check them out on the Metal Alliance Tour that may or may not be hitting your town. I’ll be seeing them! In your face!
Next we have The Wretched End with their smash hit “Death By Nature“. I’ve never heard of these guys before and I mistakenly thought it was the new Wretched song. However, I wasn’t disappointed at all. The Wretched End provide some damn good metal. If you don’t believe me then check it out for yourself!!
Plague Widow bringing straight up death metal to some poor radio station and their listener base. I hope they were ready for them because Plague Widow punishes, in a good way.
